There is a famous saying which professes that age is just a number, meaning that your age does not define who you are and what you are capable of achieving in the rest of your life.

However, when it comes to celebrities, especially women working in the entertainment industry, age has certainly been more than just a number, as the industry has usually favored younger female performers over older ones simply because of how they look.

Gwyneth Paltrow has stunned audiences around the world for delivering exceptional performances as an actress.

Thankfully, now times have changed and there are a plethora of roles for women in Hollywood who have crossed into their post-30s.

Yet, there is still a sense of worry when it comes to actresses, as it is expected that they would be concerned about the way they look due to changes caused by the natural aging process. However, actress Gwyneth Paltrow is not concerned at all.

No Shame In Growing Old

According to an interview Paltrow gave to The Beauty Closet, the actress as well as founder of her own brand of lifestyle products called Goop, revealed that her aging appearance has certainly caused her self-esteem to falter at times, however, she has kept adapting over the years and accepted all the changes with greater readiness and enthusiasm.

Paltrow was married to Coldplay singer Chris Martin before the two divorced back in 2016.

While commenting on her own appearance, Paltrow acknowledged that she did not think of herself as a beautiful woman which, according to her, is a common perception held by women around the world as there is a clear lack of self-esteem in this area.

She also clarified that her perception of her own beauty stemmed from her internal feelings, which have obviously evolved with her age, making her less critical of her own appearance and creating greater respect for her own values.

What Defines A Woman?

In the same interview, Paltrow also delved deeper into the life of a woman after she crosses a certain age, commenting that the identity of a woman changes dramatically at that point. According to her, women around her age bracket are automatically considered one and the same, becoming part of the old category whereby they are no longer considered desirable or even beautiful.

For herself, being an actress for the most part of her life and hence remaining in the spotlight, this phase brings a change that is monumental because it has a far-reaching impact on her life as someone who has been a public figure for so many years.

However, regardless of how drastically our perception of Paltrow would change, the actress believes aging is a beautiful part of life as it emphasizes the beauty of an individual.

Paltrow and her current husband, writer Brad Falchuk, tied the knot back in 2018.

According to Paltrow, this is that part of life when you not only reflect upon all that you have achieved but also develop great admiration for the people in your life, all the while losing the external beauty you have cherished and maintained over the years.

She even called it a funny juxtaposition, because your outer beauty starts to fade just as you are experiencing a changing perspective on life.
